Woohoo! Finally got the hang of it and started flying. All done except molding and some little pieces for the entry.

Good job! It looks great!

Looks great! What’s the price per square foot on that stuff?

I’ve been debating vinyl vs wood. That looks nice. What is the sqft price?

Also how repetitive is it?

Woooo same floor!

Lookin’ sharp!

This was $3.97
You can definitely get cheaper, but we opted for 1/4" material over the really think cheap stuff. Also this pattern we wanted just happened to a little more expensive.

My back hurts, my knees ache, my fingertips are screaming. It’s not repetitive though. Fairly involved and lots of cutting and math.

Nice. Cheers! There’s something about doing a floor that changes the whole room.Victory beer to you.

I bet. But I was trying to ask about the pattern. If I have were to see the same knot, or distinct grain pattern all over the room it would eventually drive me nuts.

After I put in new baseboard, it’ll be like a new house!

Yeah, about what I’m seeing out here on the west coast. The 3/4 hardwoods are in the same range. What made you go vinyl vs wood?

Has all of the frustration been worth the final product?

Very nice!

It has!

Vinyl is water proof, wood and laminate are water resistant, and this is about to be a very high traffic room that will get worn out.
Hardwood is amazing, I love it, but I didn’t want to spend a small fortune on a floor and then shit my parents when I find the first deep scratch.
This is pretty much the “tester” room, to see what we want to do in the rest of our house.

3.97, other types or patterns can be found for as low as 1.97

Looks good! What was the trick?
![]() 02/06/2016 at 23:17 |

Knock, pry, pull, tap, pound, measure, cut, snap, repeat. I should make a video: “Floor installation for angry normal people." The trick is to not do whatever I did the first two days.

I think I’m going to go with this faux wood porcelain tile. Hopefully it looks this good in real life.
